Hello Everyone!!!
This is my tenth year teaching at Burnside. I am very excited to be teaching math to grades 1-3. I work with small groups of children for 45 minutes - 1 hour daily. I also work with some students individually for 30 minutes during the day. I teach from the Number Worlds and Math Recovery programs. They are research based math programs- designed to improve math skills for students. These programs are partnered with a computer program as well. The students spend 15 minutes on the computer reinforcing math skills from lessons daily.
Some main aspects of Math that I focus on are Forward and Backward Number Sequence, Numeral Identification, Basic Number Sense, Addition and Subtraction, and Place Value.
