Welcome to our third grade classroom! My name is Tonja Teal and this is my first year teaching at Burnside Elementary. I have been married for 24 years to a wonderful man and have two children (daughter-17 and son-14) who are the joy of my life. I have a BA in Elementary Education and am currently working on my Master's degree in the area of Reading Specialty.
I am very proud to be an employee at Burnside and I will work very hard this year to make our classroom a warm and nurturing place where children feel free to explore and be active participants in the learning process.
Third grade requires students to take on new responsibilities and to be more independent learners. I believe that if we work together as a team (parents, students, staff), the learning potential will be amazing!
