Peer Tutor Syllabus

Welcome, I am so glad that you have chosen to become a peer tutor in a special needs classroom.

Classroom items that you will be graded on:
  • Working with individual students or students as a small group
  • Socializing with students
  • Projects
  • Helping assist the Instructional Assistants or Teacher
  • Test
  • Assignments given

You will be graded on a grading scale of 0-100%
  • Working with the students the entire class period will get 10 points for that day (100%) or working on a project that is assigned by the Teacher or Instructional Assistant.

You will lose points for the following reasons or a zero will result in:
  • Not working with students/and or doing nothing
  • Doing other class work
  • Socializing with other peers and not including students
  • 2 unexcused tardies
  • Unexcused absences
  • Acting inappropriately on CBI or Field Trips

What you can expect to gain from this class:
  • A better understanding of disabilities
  • New Friends

* With this class we do take Field Trips and the students go on Community Based Instruction(CBI). You will be permitted to go as part of this class.
