Northern Middle School

Hello! My name is Shelly Hargis. I am the Assistant Principal at Northern Middle School. I have worked at NMS for 13 years in the capacity of a Teacher, Counselor, and Assistant Principal. I truly love working with Middle School students and teachers. I am so proud of the accomplishments of our students and staff. Each year we continue to implement new classes, procedures, and initiatives to make our school the best in the state. In 2005, we were selected as one of three Middle Schools in KY to be recognized as a KY School to Watch. We have all the resources we need at Northern to be one of the top schools in the state. We were on the top 20 list for three content areas based on our 2004-2005 test scores. We ranked 32 overall which is in the top 15% in the state for our outstanding test scores in 2005-2006. Our first priority at NMS is the student with a focus on learning. We are anxious to see what this upcoming year holds as each year at Northern is better and better.
