Welcome to my web page. My name is Sheryl Cooper and I am the Curriculum Specialist at Southern Middle School. This is my 17th year in education. Before this position, I have had a wide variety of teaching experiences. I have taught at the elementary level for 7 years, in the 5th grade classroom, the LBD resource room and served as the Gifted Specialist. At the middle school level, I taught 6 years in the 6th and 8th grades in Language Arts and Social Studies.
During my career, I took time off from teaching and started a family. My husband and I have three children that were students of Southern Middle School and graduates of Southwestern High School. I have great pride and affection for this school.
As Curriculum Specialist, it is my job to assist teachers with resources, instructional strategies, trainings and monitoring of student progress within the curriculum programs and classroom assessments. I also work collaboratively with our District Middle School Supervisor, Dr. Hess and our administration, Mr. Dotson and Mr. Reynolds.
