"Building a Tradition of Excellence One Student at a Time"

As a 1983 graduate of Pulaski County High School, I have a great deal of pride, passion, and belief in our school, students, and community. This is my fourth year serving PCHS as principal. There is no question this is a great place to be. The culture of our school is based in the values and morals of the parents/guardians of our community. This results in having a student population of honest, hardworking, and high achieving individuals. I am equally as proud of our staff here at PCHS. Our teachers and support staff are second to none. They see the value of each individual and commit totally to doing whatever it takes to help our students, school and community succeed. The phrase "it takes a community to raise a child" is lived each day at PCHS. With this approach great things will continue to take place at Pulaski County High School.

This year in particular you will notice a great deal of change concerning our staff at PCHS. I view change as an opportunity to improve. I am confident the changes made will impact our school in a positive manner. We are fortunate to have new teachers, administrators, and staff members joining us for the 2009-2010 school year. I expect a significant improvement in all areas. Our existing staff is exemplary and the addition of the new members will only enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our school. I encourage you to communicate with our staff on a regular basis. The beginning of school is a great time to meet the teachers and administrators who will be working with the students at PCHS. As the building principal, I welcome our community members, parents, and guardians to take an active role in the education of our students. I have an open door policy and understand "it takes a community" to raise our students.

Last, I want to express my expectations of the 2009-2010 school year. I truly believe this will be the best year for our students and staff since I joined the team three years ago. My goal three years ago remains unchanged. It is my intention to help our staff transform Pulaski County High School into a "Model School" in all areas. Our students are as capable as any students anywhere. Our students deserve the best and my expectation is for us to lead others into the future rather than follow. Our school's mission statement listed at the top of the page is a reminder and reflects our focus which will help us accomplish this goal. I am honored to be the principal at Pulaski County High School and look forward to great year.

Sincerely,

Robert L. Bowers, Principal
Pulaski County High School
