I am the Speech Language Pathologist at Nancy Elementary School. This is my tenth year at Nancy Elementary, where I serve students who have articulation, language, voice, and fluency disorders. Speech Language Pathologists are sometimes called "SLPs", "speech therapists", or even "speech teachers". I help students acquire the correct production of speech sounds for conversation. I also help students with language impairments increase their receptive and expressive skills, such as word meanings, grammar usage, social language, following directions, answering questions, and listening comprehension. I also help students with voice disorders learn more about their vocal anatomy as well as teach them proper vocal hygiene. I help students who have a fluency disorder reduce their stuttering during conversational speech.
I graduated in 1999 with a Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders from Western Kentucky University. I then received my Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. I continue to hold state and national certificiation for practicing speech pathology.
I am from Russell Springs and continue to reside there with my husband of seven years, Harold (better known as Turtle). He is also employed by the Pulaski County School System as a Microcomputer Specialist. We are blessed to have two wonderful sons, Logan, age five, and Dylan, age two.
