Welcome! My name is Paula Hudson. I have 12 years teaching experience with the Pulaski County School System. I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1991 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education K- 4th grades with an endorsement in 5th - 8th grades. I completed my first Masters Degree in Library Sciences in 2001. I also have a second Master's Degree in Instructional Leadership completed in 2005.
I have a husband and three children of my own, therefore I value family time. I also value compassion for other human beings, respect and responsibility, honesty at all times, and good, old fashioned manners. I believe that we should have high expectations for children. Most of all I feel that we should love the children placed in our care, whether they are your own children or the ones that pass through your lives on a daily basis.
My classroom is guided by the standards set before us from the state and district levels. Second graders are tested according to the Program of Studies and Core Content using assessments such as the Pulaski Assesment in Reading (P.A.R.), Pulaski Assessment in Math (P.A.M.), the GRADE for reading/language arts, and this year the IOWA test has been added. The IOWA test will assess reading, math, science and social studies. We are tested three times a year through the district using the P.A.M. and P.A.R. so that we may carefully monitor student mastery of the skills. As parents/guardians, please be supportive of the work your child is required to do. At times it may be difficult, however we learn most when we are challenged.

Tuesday (08/19)- Write your words in ABC order two times each.
Wednesday (08/20)- Write you words in complete sentences.
Thursday (08/21)- Write your words in triangles.
Friday (08/22)- Take a practice test and write the words you miss five times each.
