I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how excited I am that your child will be in my classroom. We will be sharing an exciting year together learning about ourselves, communities, and interesting places around the world. I hope you will share with us in our learning throughout the year.
I feel that children benefit from hands-on activities which will be provided in my classroom; also, I believe reading is the key to success in a child's education. I have planned many activities this year that will prove to be a productive and exciting year!
Let me share a little about myself. I have been teaching first grade at Oak Hill Elementary for eleven years. I am currently working on a Rank I in Library Science, and I have a Masters Degree in Reading. Some of my hobbies include going to the movies, reading books, and traveling.

Absences: Notes from parents/guardians or an excuse from the doctor are required for each absence. Please send in the excuse within 2 days of the absence.
Slush is given to students as a reward for good citizenship in the classroom. Slush is purchased on Thursday only.
