Hello,
My name is Michael Morgan and I am a Special Education Teacher here at Pulaski Co. High School.
I would like to give you a little of my background. I am graduate of Pulaski County High School and Lindsey Wilson College, and I have my masters from University of the Cumberlands. I have worked for ten years at the Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children (now Sunrise children Services). I hold a Youth Work Certification from EKU and served on the Certification Review Committee and Steering Committee for the Kentucky Youth Care Professionals, Inc., a non profit organization serving Kentucky's youth care professionals. I am an assistant football coach and track coach at Pulaski Co. High School. I have a son Jaxon, who is a 6 grader at Northern Middle School.
I Some of my responsibilities as a Special Educator include, scheduling meetings, conferencing with your childs teachers as well as you in regards to your childs academic performance and overall helping your child have a successful year here at PCHS. To accomplish this I ask that parents keep me informed on anything that might help your child succeed or that might affect him/her negatively. . I feel , as a team, we can help your child be a success this school year!

Integrated Physics and Earth Science
Student Syllabus 2009-20010
Teacher: Mr. Mike Morgan

Purpose:
The main goal of this class is to introduce students to concepts in physical science. Physical science includes concepts in physics and earth science.
Required materials:
The following materials are required for students to bring to class everyday: notebook, pencil or pen, folder, and textbook.
1. Class Opener
a. Must be in the door before the bell rings
b. Sit in assigned seats given to you by the teacher
c. Complete Bell ringer
d. Turn in any tardy slips/absence slips before class starts
f. Begin lesson
g. Review question/opening statement/higher order thinking question on the board pertaining to the previous days lesson
2. Classroom Management
a. Always stay in seat unless asked by teacher or an emergency
b. Get pencils, paper, supplies before class begins
c. During the lesson, no excuses to leave the classroom. You must wait until the teacher is finished talking. Only true emergencies constitute for dismissal of classroom
d. Please raise your hand at all times and respect the thoughts of your classmates. If you wish to not raise your hand to speak, then please do not blurt out comments or questions.
3. Paperwork
a. The teacher will announce when assignments are due after each lesson every day
b. Every day paperwork/assignments are late (unexcused), it will result in -10 points for that particular assignment per day. After 5 days, you will get a 0 for the assignment.
c. You are responsible for coming to me when absent or tardy to get make-up work. If you do not get it, you do not receive the credit. You have 5 days to turn in any assignments.
d. Any assignments/paperwork that needs to be turned in, will be put in a special folder marked for your class period and your name on the teachers desk
4. Class Participation
a. A participation will be given for each class. It will be an all-or-nothing grade of 5 points.
b. These points will be accumulated on a weekly basis. Excused absences are not held against student, unexcused will receive a score of 0 for the class.
c. It will be based on participation in discussion, attention to lesson, appropriateness (not correctness) of input or questions.
5. Quizzes/Tests
a. Make-up quizzes/tests will be made up according to School policy. Please read handbook for instructions.
6. Restroom/Office Visits/Nurse/Errands
a. You must sign out and take the hall pass in order to go anywhere!
b. The teacher/substitute must sign it, put the destination, and the time of you leaving. When you get back, the teacher must write the time you returned with their initials next to it.
c. If you do not bring a pencil or pen and paper to my class, no dismissal, unless a true emergency arises
7. End of Class Procedure
a. Stay in your seats until the bell rings. Please do not line up at the door.
b. If you need extra help, we can arrange at the end of class to set something up for you
Classroom rules:
1.Be in your seat before the bell rings.

3.Stay on task.
Rule violations will result in the following:
1.Verbal warning
2.After school detention with a call home
