Computer Applications
Goal
Students will develop necessary skills for success in an office environment with emphasis on proper keyboarding techniques and Microsoft Office skills.
Objectives
Students should be able to key at a minimum rate of 40 words per minute with no more than five errors.
Students will demonstrate correct keyboarding and word processing skills, including document enhancement and editing, for work environments and personal use.
Students will use spreadsheets to organize and interpret data.
Students will create presentations that are appropriately formatted and eye appealing.
Students will be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint efficiently.
Students will develop needed organizational skills.
Students will demonstrate an awareness of the impact computers have on society and understand basic computer terminology.

Bank Syllabus
Goals
Students will learn the history, principles, and the skills needed to sufficiently run all aspects of the school bank.
Objectives
Students will be able to handle monetary transactions and record all entries correctly.
Students will demonstrate how to calculate interest and fees for loan payments, as well as interest for the savings accounts.
Students will demonstrate the ability to correctly balance accounts using rules and procedures from the accounting process.
Students will demonstrate ability to advertise the bank and its services using marketing principles.
Students will develop organizational skills, to run the bank effectively without unnecessary problems.

Goal
Students will gain essential information necessary for making sound financial and economic decisions.
Objectives
Students will define the free enterprise system and differences in world economics.
Students will apply sound money management principles for personal and family finances.
Students will demonstrate appropriate uses of credit.
Students will apply consumer rights and responsibilities in a business setting.
Students will investigate various forms of business ownership.
Students will demonstrate understanding of risk associated with business ventures and the necessities of insurance.
Students will demonstrate understanding of the importance of international trade within the U.S. economy.

Goal
Students will learn the importance of accounting to businesses and how to create and interprete financial statements.
Objectives
Students will learn the history of accounting.
Students will learn the nine steps of the accounting equation.
Students will create financial statements used in business.
Students will learn to calculate payroll for a business.
Students will learn the importance of using accounting information to make business decisions.
Students will learn about investments, loans and credit cards, and the importance of good credit.
Students will learn about the assets, liabilities, and capital of a business.

Advanced Computer Applications
Goal
Students will be able to use Microsoft Office products effectively in thier personal and business lives including Access, Publisher, and Outlook. Students will also learn to use Adobe products including Acrobat and Indesign.
Objectives
Students will create documents such as business cards, flyers, banners, coupons, and advertisements using Microsoft Publisher.
Students will create a series of databases to keep records that could be beneficial for personal or business use.
Students will use Microsoft Office to send and recieve emails, include attachments, as well as format their accounts to their own needs and preferences.
Students will use Microsoft Office to schedule meetings, events, and dates on the calendar.
Students will use Microsoft Office to create a list of contacts.
Students will use Microsoft Office to create a task list used to track all activities one must track and complete.
Students will use Adobe Indesign to create graphic illustrations including drawings, illustrations, and fonts.

Electronic Office
Goals
Students will learn the importance of the office to business. Students will learn common aspects of the office and potential problems. Students will learn how to create common useful business documents.
Objectives
Students will create resumes and job applications.
Students will create business documents including travel expense reports, budgets, memos, and business reports.
Students will learn to write checks as well keep a ledger.
Students will evaluate business rules and procedures as well as potential problems.

Grading System
A = 90-100Tests, daily work, projects, and other assignments will
B = 80-89be based on points for that particular assignment. Tests will
C = 70-79count for approximately half of the grade with the remain-
D = 60-69ing for class work.
E = below 60
Absence Make Up Policy
Attendance is very important. We will follow the policy of the agenda book that states a student has three days to turn in work for an excused absence.
Late Work
Late work will be accepted, but you will be penalized 10 percentage points per day.
