Mrs. C. Nichols' webpage. Welcome!!! Teaching writing is one of the great joys in my life.
Another great joy that I get to experience in life comes as I work in my flower garden. I love the different fragrances, the beautiful colors, and just the pleasure of watching life as each plant grows and changes. My 5th graders are like a precious garden . They too burst with colors displaying their brilliant array. Each year the students go forward in life with so much of their own brilliance (living, energy, talent, excitement, learning, ...
I am blessed to have a part in nurturing these young minds as they grow and develop to their greatest potential.
For all 5th Grade Students:
Spelling tests are on Friday.
Study each night!
Students will have a DOL (Daily Oral Language) question daily (with few exceptions). These questions ask about content discussed and practiced in the classroom. They are
checked and a grade is given.
All papers with a grade of 69% or lower are to be returned the following day with a parent signature.
The students have been given a planner to write their assingments in each day. This will
help them stay organized. Please discuss with your child the information written in the
planner and sign it daily. Also, if you would like to send a message to me, the planner is a
great tool for parent/teacher notes. It is a great means of communication. No pages should
ever be torn out of the steno/planner.
We are available for conferences. If you want, leave a message with our school secretary
or just send a note, and we'll set up a time. If your child is absent and able to work, please
phone the school in the morning for us to collect homework from each teacher, and it
should be ready for pick up by 2:oo.
