Welcome to 1st Grade
I feel fortunate to be a first grade teacher at Shopville Elementary! I have been teaching for 25 years. This is my fifth year at Shopville . I have taught many different grade levels, but I really enjoy first grade.
In our class we will concentrate on language arts and math. We use a combination of large group, small group, partner learning, one on one, peer tutoring and learning centers to facilitate learning.
We try to have fun while we learn!
We use the Harcourt Reading Series and most of our reading time is spent in literacy centers.
Math is taught with the Everyday Math Series. We send home a mathlink daily to keep parents in touch
with what we're working on.
