2009 Testing Dates: May 4-15
(High Schools have an early option of April 20 - May 1)
What is tested at each grade level?
Grade - Core Content Area
3 - reading, mathematics
4* - reading, mathematics, science, PL/VS
5 - reading, mathematics, social studies, A&H, ODW
6 - reading, mathematics
7* - reading, mathematics, science, PL/VS
8 - reading, mathematics, social studies, A&H, ODW
10 - reading, PL/VS
11 - mathematics, science, social studies, A&H
12* - on-demand writing (ODW) (Fall Testing window)
* Grades 4, 7 and 12 will submit a Writing Portfolio in the spring, which is a component of CATS
Generally, to participate in the CATS Online test (cancelled for 2009), students in special populations must meet three eligibility requirements. They must:
1. Have an IEP, 504 Plan, or Program Service Plan (PSP) that specifies the need for a reader or assistive technology as an instructional and assessment accommodation;
2. Require and routinely (daily to weekly) use textreader, screenreader (text to speech) or related technology to access printed material in classroom instruction and assessment; and
3. At test time, be able to access and use the CATS Online Practice Area until able to navigate the site and independently read the content with their textreaders, screenreaders, or related technology. Students who do not access the Practice Area will be denied access to the live test.
We do not have the details of the 2009-2010 online tests at this time. (Posted 8/10/09)
