The
Accelerated Reader
program, a strong component of our reading curriculum, provides a motivational framework that encourages students to practice and improve reading skills. Students in grades 1-5 are challenged to read an AR book, take an AR test on a computer in their classroom, computer lab or media center, and earn points. The more difficult the book the more points a student can earn.
This year's AR theme is:
Hollywood ~ Shoot for the Stars
Accelerated Reader begins on September 1, 2009 and ends on April 30, 2010.
Those students in 2nd - 5th grades who reach their yearly goal for the year will be invited to attend the End-Of-The-Year celebration. We will have great food, fun activities and fantastic prizes to be auctioned off. Hope to see you there.
Point Goals per grade:
4th & 5th grade = 100 pts.
3rd grade = 75 pts.
2nd grade = 50 pts.
1st grade = 15 pts. (beginning after Christmas)
