Reading and Grammar
This week in reading we will be kicking off a new unit with The Stories Julian Tells from our Harcourt books. Our focus skills will be sequence of events, retelling a story, and a look back at narrative elements, including plot, characters, and character traits. We will also be working on How-To writing pieces for the next few weeks.
Essential Questions:
Why is the sequence of events important when retelling a story?
What are some sequencing words to we can look for when reading?
What do you need to include in a retelling?
What do we call the sequence of events in a nonfiction book?
How can we describe a character?

This week in grammar we will be beginning a new unit on adjectives and adverbs. We will identify adjectives in a sentence and find the noun they describe.
