Hello, My name is Anita Loveless and I am currently teaching Science to about 80 of the brightest students in Pulaski County. I LOVE SCIENCE and try to instill that love into ALL my students. Science is a fascinating subject to teach and one of the most interesting to learn. Throughout the school year we will be doing many activities and experiments that will enhance your child's learning. As a parent/guardian, please encourage your child to talk with you about what they are learning because the more they talk about what they are learning, the more apt they are to remember it later on.

Your child receives a Study Guide at the beginning of each new unit of study. They use this as a place to record information from class (notes) and make informative drawings about whatever we are studying. It is important that your child keep these in their Science folder and review the material discussed in class with you each evening. Again, the more they talk about what they are learning, the easier it becomes for them to write about what they have learned (which they must do when they are tested).
Chapter/Unit Reviews are given at the end of a chapter/unit. This is a grade and the students are given class time to complete. However, if not completed at the end of class, your child will need to finish at home and return to school the following day. **Your child is allowed to use their study guide and the book for this assignment.
Tests are given after chapter/unit reviews have been graded. Your child can use their study guide, chapter review, as well as the book to help prepare for tests. **No notes or books of any kind may be used during the test.
Flashbacks are done daily. These consist of 4 review questions from prior day's lesson that the student answers on a "Flashback Worksheet." Each question they get correct is given 5 points. At the end of the week your child is given a grade on the number of points they have received each day.
