Fifth graders will be participating in a Writing Rewards Celebration on Friday, March 21 from 1-3:00 pm. They will be treated with snacks and dodgeball. Students earn this wonderful reward from Ms. Patton by scoring Proficient and Distinguised on writing pieces (On-Demand and Open Response). What a wonderful way to celebrate!
We are also preparing for the Entrepreneur Fair. All students are required to participate and are graded on this event. Parents, students are given deadlines for certain parts of the assignments. Please remind them that they are required to meet these deadlines to make this event flow more smoothly. This Fair gives students an opportunity to learn and practice economics. It is so much fun! Prepare to be amaxed at these spectacular businesses!
The Science Fair is also approaching. Fifth graders are not required to participate, but are strongly encouraged to enter a project.
Students will be PAM (Pulaski Assessment in Mathematics) Testing on March 20-21. This will be their final opportunity to take the PAM test this year. They took it at the beginning of the year, midyear, and now at the end of the year. Please remind them to take this test seriously, as it does reflect on them and their school. Students who score well on this test will also be in for a nice surprise!
I will begin after school math tutoring on March 17. These sessions will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-4:45. This tutoring is offered to help prepare for the CATS test.
