Shopville Elementary School

Welcome To My Fourth Grade Classroom!

This is my fourth year teaching and I'm excited to be at Shopville Elementary as the fourth grade science teacher. Students will be hard at work learning about life, earth, and physical science. They will also gain insightful knowledge with hands on activities and experiments throughout the year. I have very high expectations for my students as we launch the new school year here at Shopville.

Your child will also be responsible for a daily assignment planner. Students are to record any homework they may have for all subjects in this planner. Parents are encouraged to look over the childs planner each night. A parent signature acknowledges that they have read the planner and their child has completed assigned homework.

  • Fourth grade students will be given the opportunity each month to earn "Tiger Tender". Each week students will be given $5.00 to begin the week. Each day present they will earn an additional $1.00 for attendance. During the week they can earn or loose money the following ways. To earn money the students can obtain AR points, score a "4" on an open response, earn honor roll, and a complete portfolio entry. Debits include not having homework, unnecessary talking, off task, not following directions, or to purchase pencils or erasers.
  • As fourth grade teachers we hope that all parents will encourage their child to save their money for end of the month activities. Students can purchase tickets with their "Tiger Tender" to attend movies, carnival games, and other events. Students will also be allowed to purchase small items in the class store. This is an opportunity to practice money management and saving. The purpose of the "Tiger Tender Discipline" is to reinforce positive behavior.
