Welcome to first and second grades! My name is Amanda Brown, and this is my second year teaching and at Nancy. I graduated from Southwestern High School in 2002, and I received my associates from Somerset Community College. I completed my bachelor's at Eastern Kentucky University in Elementary Education, and am currently working on my Reading/Writing Specialist Certificate for my master's.
I reside in Somerset, where I have lived all of my life, and though I am not married, I am engaged and hope to marry once my Master's is completed. My fiance' is working on his Master's in Middle School Education. We have been together for five years. I have three older sisters, and two wonderful, caring parents who have supported me through everything. I have received a lot of my experience with children from my three nieces and two nephews who always make life entertaining!
I taught first grade last year, and I have been fortunate enough to teach a first and second grade split this year. It is a challenging, but very rewarding job! I look forward to the challenges to come, and I enjoy each and every one of my students!
